With the pressures of trying to run a competitive business, in this ever-changing world of commerce it is becoming more and more important to work in partnership, yet there is less time to manage this co-ordination.
Town Centre Management Schemes were set up about 15 years ago to do precisely that. An Independent person or team who's prime role is to facilitate the bringing together of a number of different sectors to improve the town for all who use it. If this is not done then towns slide into an unattractive uncaring arena that no one wants to enter, especially when there are alternatives.
The town centre manager works with the local businesses within the town, and other businesses on the edge of town or outside of town that wish to participate and contribute. But they also need to work with the local council, police, community groups, health authorities, Education, Entertainers, business advisors, local transport companies, funding sources, and many many more if the plan is to work.
