- The mission of the Bill Borman Memorial Scholarship Fund is to encourage the development of future advocates for social justice in the Long Island LGBT community. The Bill Borman Memorial Scholarship Fund will continue Bill's legacy by supporting future leaders in the LGBT community. The Fund will provide financial assistance to openly LGBT high school seniors in Nassau and Suffolk Counties who plan to go to college in order to pursue careers in political science or government with the goal of furthering social justice for LGBT people and/or people living with AIDS. Criteria and selection for the scholarships will be determined by a committee formed from his colleagues, friends, and family members. The Fund will be administered by Long Island Crisis Center where Bill served on the Board of Directors.
