Description
About this site
The Internet domain bi.org was set up in September 1996 by Nick Smith. It's currently run by a group of UK-based bisexuals and bi-friendly people, including David Matthewman and Marcus Morgan.
Its goal is to serve the worldwide bisexual community by providing a free Internet portal for bisexual individuals, groups and non-profit organisations. Originally, bi.org provided free web space and e-mail addresses; while we'll still do that on request, it's no longer our main focus, as more and more people have access to web space and e-mail as a matter of course. These days, bi.org is more about providing a central hub for bisexuals to find information from the plethora of sites that have sprung up across the Internet in the past 10 years. There is also large set of pages detailing resources (groups, organisations, magazines, Internet newsgroups), and discussion fora for chatting to other bisexuals.
Aesthetics
Right from the start, bi.org has favoured a simple, accessible design. Much of the site is text-only with minimal graphics, and we like it that way.
