Braintree Firefighters Local 920 is the Union organization for the members of the Braintree Fire Department. Local 920 of the International Association of Firefighters and the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts was chartered on May 20, 1947. We had 20 members of the Braintree Fire Department then.
The goals of the organization are to provide the employees of the Braintree Fire Department with the means to protect the health, safety, and livelihood of members through the collective bargaining process. We are a proud organization with a rich history and dedication to the community we serve.
Over the last 55 years our organization has grown to a membership of 88 full time paid professional firefighters. We are dedicated to provide professional fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous material remediation and mitigation, fire prevention and many other efficient community and departmental services.
