Best Dry Carpet Cleaning, Northwest Chicago Suburbs

What is Dry Carpet Cleaning?

Dry cleaning results from complete control of moisture. All cleaning systems require some amount of moisture. How that moisture is controlled determines whether the system is “wet extraction” or “dry extraction.” BestDry uses, on average, about ten ounces of moisture per 50 square feet. Tiny “sponges” that are gently brushed through all your carpet fibers cleaning millions of vertical surfaces deliver this moisture. BestDry's brushes move vertically through the pile, lifting and fluffing as they clean. The sponges emulsify and absorb the dirt and are then vacuumed away leaving your carpet clean, dry and without dirt attracting residue.

Why Dry Carpet Cleaning?

Besides the pleasure of not coping with wet carpet, there are a number of reasons. Perhaps most important is the avoidance of overwetting. Overwetting can foster microbial growth and weaken backings and seams. Excess moisture can activate odors long dormant such as old pet accidents. Also, spots will not reappear after dry cleaning because there is no risk of “wick back”. When water is sprayed into carpet, gravity pulls it and the soil it suspends to the base of the carpet. As this solution evaporates, the carpet fibers serve as a wick and spots migrate to the surface. Reappearing spots will not occur when moisture is controlled. HOST® sponges are moistened with water, detergent and a little safe to use solvent. It leaves no dirt-attracting residue so carpets truly stay clean longer. In fact, since they are absorbent, it serves as an excellent spill control product.
