WACO, Texas - For the first time since 1999 and only the sixth time in school history, Baylor's season-opening football game will be televised, as Fox Sports Net has announced that it will air the Bears' 2006 season-opener against defending Mountain West Conference champion TCU. To accommodate the telecast, the game has been moved to Sunday, Sept. 3, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. from Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco.
Baylor has experienced unprecedented success under McCaw the past two years. This past academic year, the Bears experienced their most successful season on the gridiron since entering the Big 12 under head coach Guy Morriss.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Following the completion of the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend, Baylor associate track & field coach Michael Ford was named the Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year for men's sprints, awarded by the Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
