OWNERSHIP
Banks are publicly listed companies and their first priority is to look after their shareholders. On the other hand, Credit Unions are mutual organizations whose primary motivation is to keep its member-owners satisfied. All our profits (after providing for necessary reserves) are returned to members through top interest rates on savings, low cost loans, and reasonable fees … possibly even no fees.
As a shareholder each member of Baywide has an equal say in how their Credit Union is run. Members vote at Annual General Meetings and can stand for positions on the Board of Directors.

As a locally owned financial institution our ultimate responsibility is to our members. Our funds are sourced from the community we serve and our lending supports Hawke's Bay individuals, families and businesses.
