About Naomi Baumslag
Dr. Naomi Baumslag is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Georgetown University Medical School, as well as the President of the Womens International Public Health Network. She is a recognised expert in public health, has been advisor to many international agencies, and is a member of several human rights committes. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, she obtained her MD at the Witwatersrand University Medical School Johannesburg and an MPH at Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, Baltimore. Dr Baumslag worked in clinics in South African townships and in the USA for underserved populations. She has written more than 20 books and over 150 journal articles. She has extensively researched medical ethics and the relationship of heath professionals and human rights both during the holocaustand in apartheid South Africa. Dr Baumslag lectures widely both nationally and internationally. She lives in Maryland with her husband, Ralph.
