We believe that gratuitous functionality and excessive multimedia distract customers from their on-line information retrieval goals. Too often, wiz-bang "featuritis" blows users away...from their on-line goals. We don't think that "Wow Factor" should not result in "Wow, I can't find anything" or "Wow, this page loads so slowly I'll check a different site." Imagine walking into a store and having to watch a video before shopping or experiencing pesky employees distracting you with recommendations for other products or services! Not a good idea.
