Barbara DeMarco-Barrett's first book, Pen on Fire: A Busy Woman's Guide to Igniting the Writer Within (Harcourt, 2004), was a Los Angeles Times best-seller and won a 2005 ASJA Outstanding Book Award. Her essay, Knitting: My Urban Escape, was anthologized in Knitting Through It: Inspiring Stories for Troubled Times (Voyageur, 2008) and she has a short story due out in early 2010 in Orange County Noir, an anthology published by Akashic Books.
