The goal of the Baltimore Dumpster Project is to create a unified method of viewing dumpsters in Baltimore City which are known to reliably contain consumable food and other useful items. This information should be presented in a way which can be both revealing on a large-scale (i.e. city-wide) and useful on a small scale (i.e. to find an individual dumpster). The project will be open to (anonymous) public contributions. The intent is not necessarily to provide a resource for those who wish to dumpster dive, or (inversely) those who wish to stop it. Rather, by collectively displaying the sites of useful articles and food which are being disposed of, hopefully a point will emerge concerning waste in Baltimore.
