- Back in 1989 Bake's Malibu Boats was established. At the time, only Malibu boats were sold on a limited basis. There was not a ProShop until a boat customer wanted to have a heater installed. A few heaters were bought and were some of the first accessories sold from Bakes. As demand grew for Malibu boats, so did the desire for a wider range of products and accessories. As a result, Bakes added more parts, vests, and other water related merchandise. A more official ProShop quickly took shape.
