aja Yachts was born a couple of years ago more by accident than intention when we were experimenting with marketing real estate using this new thing called the Internet. While working on the project with the Shroyers, owners of Marina de La Paz, we were amazed at how we could reach people literally in every part of the world.
With La Paz, as the gateway to the Sea of Cortez, attracting a growing number of cruisers every year, we saw a need for a business that could market and show boats here, and settle transactions in the U.S. to comply with Mexican Law. So, here we are, after feeling our way along since mid-1998.
We are not -- and never have been -- "yacht brokers" in the usual sense. (We never sold used cars either.) We're just people who enjoy boating and the cruising life, and more importantly, we enjoy doing business the "old-fashioned" way with honesty and integrity. We tell you what we think are the positive and negative points of the boats we're marketing, and we strive to provide the most detailed information available.
