About Baby Talk
Baby Talk was setup by Karyn and Giles Warburton in February 2002 in order to provide parents in New Zealand with Baby Sign Language resources and support.
Karyn and Giles were motivated to start Baby Talk by the experiences they had signing with their baby daughter, Isabella. They wanted to provide Kiwi parents with a quick and easy way to start signing and developed their Quick Reference chart, which uses the signs that they found most useful.
Workshops
In June 2002 Baby Talk ran it's first workshop aimed at giving parents the basics needed to start teaching signs to their babies. The success of the live workshops far exceeded initial expectations, and led to them running the workshops around the country. An appearance on the TVNZ Breakfast show in July helped enormously in raising the profile of Baby Sign Language in New Zealand, and the demand for workshops continues to grow.
