Description
Since its formation in 1968 the All Wheel Drive Club has grown into a well-managed organisation with some 2500 members throughout the UK and around the world. Support and encouragement has been given over a wide range of activities, and during the past three decades the AWDC has helped to bring the sport and the pursuit of off-roading out of obscurity to a well respected place amongst other leisure activities.
Once the province of those employed on the land, 4x4s are now owned and driven by people from all walks of life, and the profusion of imported vehicles has widened the ownership and appeal of the pursuit.
If it will go off-road it is the AWDC's type of vehicle. Truck, light 4WD, buggy, 4x4, even 6x6 are all welcome (the club does not cater for motor cycles). With no barriers of make or type, the AWDC offers the widest possible variety of vehicular interest, from the original wartime Jeep to the latest shiny Japanese import. All are to be seen at our events and you don't even have to own a vehicle to be a member.
