Our Mission
Aware Defeat Depression exists to support people experiencing or at risk of experiencing depression or manic depression and their carers throughout Northern Ireland through providing information and advice, promoting self help, instigating and supporting research and working for changes in public attitude and statutory health care provision.
Our Vision
Aware Defeat Depression wishes to see a society which accepts that depression is a recognised illness that can affect anyone, where adequate information, treatment, support and preventative education are available as a right and where all those who need help feel able to come forward and look for it without loss of esteem or respect.
Holistic Approach
We recognise that good and positive mental health is more than just the absence of mental illness and we will work to promote the presence of positive coping and management skills, self-esteem and self-awareness, warm relationships and good physical health and fitness.
