AVS was started in 1985 (I think) when Steve McMullen left Marmalade Video to work with Peter Stobbart in the set up of Wellington AV. After a few years we joind forces with our only competitors at the time AVVID Rentals. Dave Joyce was the technical brains behind Avvid much like Stobbie was the tech behind Wgtn AV. Not quite sure what Grant McLaren brought to the table "Acutal" but he did very well out of it all in the end. Things were rosey for many years but as anyone will tell you. Going into business with mates is a great way to lose them. Joycie lost it and was the first to be voted off "AV Island" Eventually Steve Mc left to start Hyperactive graphics and media and it took a few years before Grants wife decided it was time to bugger offf to Auz. This left Stobbie to continue to do what he loves best. Real techo' stuff 24/7
