- Carol Denker, M.S., worked as an art and group therapist from the 1970s to the mid-1990s. She was always, and continues to be, a painter and portrait artist (www.aportraitbycarol.com). She began writing professionally in 1998; in 2004, she helped found the prize-winning Spirit Community Newspaper and was its first editor in chief.
