AutoGunTracker is a solution that was truly designed by gun dealers for gun dealers. Extensive research with several dealers was conducted to provide the insight needed in the design of a solution that would address the market’s needs.
The design of AutoGunTracker centered on integrating the three most important parts of a dealer’s business. The tremendous amount of paperwork that is required by the various governmental agencies that regulate the firearm industry was a frequent dealer complaint. The re-keying of the same information into different programs was a common frustration shared by everyone. AGT is a transactional based system. Each transaction type is intuitively designed and straightforward. The information required to complete a transaction is little more than what is needed to complete an entry into the BATF gun log. A dealer completes the integrated online 4473 and with the information entered only once into AutoGunTracker a dealer is able to maintain a website (gun vault), update an electronic gun log and to run a variety of reports. Our typical dealer customer estimates that AGT saves them five to ten hours a week in paperwork.
Additionally, the solution offers valuable marketing information. AutoGunTracker captures and displays the information a dealer needs to help him maximize the return on his investment in his store. AGT’s Overview Report allows a dealer the insight to take full advantage of distributors’ and manufacturers’ buying programs. With the click of a mouse a dealer is able to determine how many of a particular firearm was purchased and sold in a specific time period, their profit margins and carryover into the next season. Sales reports, sale tax schedules, inventory aging reports, BATF lookups, customer tracking reports and many others can be produced instantaneously.
The latest addition to AGT is RangeMaster (Shot Show 2011). With this tool a range manager can advertise classes on his website (or use the free website gernerated by AGT) and take reservations for lane usage. All reservations are paid in advnce. The RM module also tracks gun usage and that can alert the dealer to maintenance and gun retirement schedules.
Care was taken in the design of AutoGunTracker to ensure that even the inexperienced computer user would be comfortable with its usage. Since AGT is a web-based solution, it can be accessed from any device connected to the Internet. No PC or Mac compatibility required. The importance placed on security was key in the design of every segment of the solution. Information passed back and forth between the user and the system has the same level of security and encryption as Internet Banking. To use AGT a dealer never needs to load software or updates into his computer. The solution is always accessible using a dealer’s unique user id and password. If a store computer crashes a dealer can access AutoGunTracker and its information from any other device that is connected to the Internet. All data that a dealer enters into the system is backed up into several servers continuously and is available to be downloaded on a dealer's desktop computer. The bound book is emailed to the dealer daily. AGT also allows owners the ability to monitor their store remotely while they are on away from the store.
Cactisolutions’ expertise in moving data has also allowed AutoGunTracker to be integrated with several industry related solutions. An AGT dealer’s home page can include their Gallery of Gun's online showroom from Davidson’s if they qualify. Inventory items listed on AutoGunTracker can be uploaded to be listed on GunBroker.com without having to re-key all of the information. A current subscriber of the Blue Book of Gun Values Online program can have his AGT inventory values updated continuously by entering the information once. AGT has linked with AcuSport for receiving orders elctronically and with one-click adds them to the bound book and online inventory.
