- Millie Lee began selling orchids as Orchids by Millie in the mid '90s in a 3,000 sq. ft. greenhouse at her home in Raleigh. In 1998 she opened a retail greenhouse in North Hills that grew to include 9 employees (orchid arrangers), a �pot room� filled with unique cachepots and planters, and unusual tropical plants that could be used in her orchid arrangements or sold alone. Orchids by Millie became a household word in the orchid arrangement market as Millie expanded her services to provide orchid rentals for special events, homes and businesses!
