- Welcome to the new assefmusic.com website! Faramarz Assef – A native of (Abadan) Iran, is an internationally renowned Iranian music artist, and an Iranian National Track and Field champion athlete. As the record holder in triple jump (16.08 meters) from 1974 to 2005 in which he also gained a bronze medal in the same event at the Asian Games that were held in Tehran, Iran in 1974; he became the only Iranian national athlete that was both capable, and successful, in merging triumphant success in music, art and sport – gaining the respect of millions of people in both Iran, and the rest of the world.
