- We started letting out Minnie's Cottage to friends and family in the mid 1990's on an informal basis, when it was our second home. We knew that we eventually wanted to live in the Yorkshire Dales, so we jumped at the chance to buy Rook's Cottage when it came up for sale in 1999, with the intention that this would eventually be our home in Askrigg. We then started letting Rook's as a holiday cottage, with our first guests in October 1999.
- Shortly after we decided that we didn't want to wait any longer to live in the Dales, so we moved up here to live in July 2000, but managed to keep Rook's as a holiday cottage, as it was, and still is, so popular, being so full of character and in the centre of Askrigg.
