The borough of Ashley is situated deep in the coal region of Northeast Pennsylvania. It boasts one of the few remaining coal breakers in our region. A reminder of the borough’s rich heritage. It’s a small town on the edge of the county seat, Wilkes-Barre City. However with major roadways running through it, it has seen more and more activity. Ashley Rescue Hose Co. No. 1 has the designation of Luzerne County Station 111. Our membership is entirely volunteer.
