- As the name denotes, the Australian Sister Cities Association is an association of towns, shires, cities, ports and even States that have a Sister City relationship. It keeps a register of all Australian affiliations, of which it is aware, and encourages their extension.
- ASCA also takes an active role in matching cities in Australia with cities, both from overseas and within Australia, seeking a Sister City relationship. ASCA is also the link between an Australian Sister City and the many projects and ideas that have been experienced here and abroad.
