In 1978, Jere Locke Beasley founded the firm which is now known as Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C. From 1970 through 1978, he served as lieutenant governor of the state of Alabama, and for a short period as governor. In 1978, he re-entered the private practice of law representing plaintiffs and claimants in civil litigation. This was the genesis of the present law firm which now employs approximately 40 lawyers and 250 support staff. Beasley Allen is the largest plaintiff’s law firm in the country whose offices are located in one city.
