Arrow Electronics turned as a public enterprise in the year 1961 with two stores and a distribution center. The credit of transforming the company into a larger corporate entity goes to three friends from Harvard Business School named Duke Glenn, Jr., Roger Green and John Waddell who joined the company in 1968. Eventually the company acquired GCS Electronics Division, two refiners of lead Schuylkill Products Company and Schuylkill Lead Corporation. Glenn and Green died in a tragic fire accident twelve years later.
