- We commenced business as Arktis Export in Sisimiut, Greenland, in the fall of 1982. Two years later we moved to the capital Nuuk where we opened Arktis Gaveshop (Arctic Gift Store) which this year is celebrating its 20th birthday.
- This gallery /store was the first of its kind in Greenland dealing solely in Inuit art, Arctic furs and hides, narwhal- and walrus tusks, art cards, a line of fur mittens, hats, etc. What started as a living room operation, soon became a full-grown Arctic gallery, catering for tourists and local customers alike.
