- Aquilina were formed in mid 1999, when Brixton bred singer/guitarist Joseph Aquilina decided to perform some songs he had written. Instead of performing solo with a guitar, he opted to bring some instrumental help to give his musical ideas more depth. While at Art school, Joseph was introduced to double bass Royal College graduate Paul Baker, Samy Bishai joined the group as violinist following an advert placed in the Loot Newspaper. Samy introduced Danish born drummer Nikolaj Bjerre to the band. The band have performed around London and the UK for five years.
