- APRSfl.net was started just shortly after January of 2004 after both Sean (originally KG4YZZ, now N4SCF) and Dave (KG4YZY) became licensed amateur radio operators. Getting licensed was something we should have done earlier in life, and even at that it took our friend Ralph (originally KG4YZX, now K4NUT) to prod us into going down and taking the test. We actually think he didn't want to take the test alone at first, hence why he insisted we all go together. Since we all work in a microwave radio business, all studying was for the rules, not the technology for us.
