In the 43 years since I began earning a living, I have been involved in conflicts of many different types. During the first 21 years I dealt with Labor/Employee/Management disputes on every conceivable level from personality conflicts to grievances to negotiation of labor contracts. I have seen these conflicts resolved through facilitated negotiations, and I have seen them resolved after injurious labor stoppages.
In the next 21 years I have handled conflicts as a California Licensed lawyer in the courts. I have served clients as a plaintiff's attorney, and have defended clients at their request and at the request of their insurance companies. I have handled personal injury claims, contract disputes, construction defect disputes and many others.
There is of course a certain amount of gamble associated with litigation. To illustrate, I defended a case a number of years ago in which we offered the plaintiff $360,000.00 to settle before trial. She declined to accept and decided to roll the dice. The verdict came back in our favor. On top of that we were awarded our costs of litigation which she eventually paid.
