- Ann Tran first started this company in Vietnam in 1989 with an intention to find her lost sons. After the fall of Saigon families were separated on different continents and so the story of Ann's Tourist begins. Ann remained in Vietnam separated from her 2 sons on April 18, 1975 and was never to see her sons again for another 16 years.
- In 1989 with the new government's "Open Door Policy" which allowed privatization Ann had came up with an idea to open up a travel agency in hopes of getting help from American travelers to find her sons.
