- Animal Samaritans are a UK Registered Charity that were formed in 1985 by a group of pensioners when a branch of a national animal charity closed down. It currently operates in south-east London and north-west Kent, providing re-homing of unwanted and ill-treated animals in these regions, and has approximately 1000 members. The Charity is run entirely by volunteers who work for no payment, our only source of income is from the annual subscription that our members pay, and donations from the public. The rest of our funds are raised by our members through jumble sales, car boot sales, raffles and sponsored events.
