- My parents, Jong Hwa (John) and Sook Ja (Susie), immigrated to California from South Korea in 1978. I was born in 1982 - my brother, Phillip, in 1983. I was raised in various parts of Los Angeles: North Hollywood, Glendale, La Canada, and the San Fernando Valley. I miss the old Glendale home and my prepubescent muck raking, in the tradition of Calvin and Hobbes.
