- This site and an accompanying book shown to the left occupy a niche that has been heretofore unfilled, namely documenting information on homosexuality from multiple sources and synthesizing the literature. There is no dearth of sources that offer information on homosexuality, but these sources have their biases. The religious right, gay activists, social constructionists, mental health professionals and biologists, not necessarily mutually exclusive groups, offer their own perspectives on homosexuality and cite a subset of the literature on homosexuality to back up their claims, but these groups often do not see eye to eye and ignore correlates of homosexuality that do not fit their perspectives.
- A related issue is public debate on the merits of the demands of homosexual activists, but this debate is too often based on ideology and should be informed by empirical evidence, instead.
