- Amanda On The Veranda was conceived when we moved from a house in beautiful County Meath, with a large garden, to a Dublin Docklands city centre apartment with 2 balconies. We wanted to continue to grow flowers, plants and herbs, but didn't want to clutter up our valuable balcony floor area with random, plant containers. We thought of hanging window boxes OUTSIDE the balcony but after extensive enquiries we couldn't source hangers to do this.
