- On July 4, 1998, the history of AllFreeStuff.com began with the registration of the domain name. Originally seen as a small hobby site by Founder/Webmaster Dan McArdle, it took several months before AllFreeStuff.com (AFS) developed into a respectable site. After a few amateur designs, McArdle settled on a look AFS. After many minor changes to the layout and logo, a new design using a logo created by Rob Stransky was introduced. This design, getting many compliments from devoted AFS surfers, was kept until mid-summer 1999, when Patrick Clinger of HostedScripts.com joined the AFS team. With the aid of Clinger's CGI expertise, this was the first design of AFS to have an administration system. Although the design was fine, the Internet began to change, and around December 1999 McArdle and Clinger started collaborating on what would become known as AFSND (AllFreeStuff.com New Design). By Summer 2000, both realized the potential of AFSND, and put many hours of work into its interface. As the work became more overwhelming, they recruited several new members, including Joe Osborn (Chief Director of Creative Writing) Graphics Team members Jennifer Rakowiecki (Logo/Advertisements), Joe Shin and Jeff Talarico (Layout). At its debut, the team hopes that AFSND will set a new standard for free stuff sites, and hold a place high in surfer's respects for many years to come.
