- The history of Alexander’s begins in 1955 when Alex first became a watchmaker. He and I were introduced in 1962. Two years later, we married and became business partners, managing our first store together - Geary Jewelers in San Francisco, California. In 1970, we immigrated to London, Ontario, Canada, with our four young children, and opened Alexander’s Fine Jewellery in London Mall. After five years, we relocated Alexander’s to City Centre Mall, in downtown London, where we stayed for 11 years until the mall was converted into office space. Afterwards, we relocated for three years to Wilkins Plaza, in the London community of Lockwood Park. In 1988, we were finally able to secure a location in the popular White Oaks Mall, where we eventually opened as “Jewels and Time”. For 16 years, we grew our business in White Oaks, during which time we twice expanded to a larger space. Alex and I lived in London for 34 years and grew our family to seven children, four daughter-in-laws, and eight grandchildren.
