Let us introduce ourselves: Fritz Creek Gardens is owned by Rita Jo and Leroy Shoultz. We are located on the Kenai Peninsula in Fritz Creek, Alaska, 8.5 miles from Homer on East Road. Our nursery is home to several greenhouses and 9 display gardens. We open for the season on April 15th and close September 30th. We are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10AM to 6PM. (closed on Mondays)
We started growing plants for commercial purposes in 1995 and opened to the public in the spring of 1996. Our goal is to provide the largest variety of ALASKA HARDY® plants suitable for the great north and to provide the expertise to assist our customer achieve success in growing healthy, beautiful plants with the least amount of negative impact on our environment.
We also want to disprove the notion sometimes heard that Alaskans can’t grow great perennials like outside. That’s not true. So to single out plants we know from experience grow great here, we have introduced Alaska Hardy® Plants to the market. These plants, grown at our nursery, are your assurance that they are Alaska Hardy®.
