- The National Agribusiness Council (NAC) is a private sector initiative to create an enabling environment for a viable and profitable agribusiness sector in Sri Lanka.
- The NAC is the successor to the USAID -funded Agro-Enterprises (AgEnt) Project, Whose eight-year term ended on September 30,2000. The Council, which serves as the apex body for the Sri Lanka Agribusiness sector, has 23 founder members (including 18 trade associations) and a Board of Trustees (currently consisting of four members).
- The council is part of the National Agribusiness Trust( a charitable organization registered with the Public Trustee) established by AgEnt to sustain its activities in Sri Lanka.
