Introduction to Home Information Packs (HIPs)
Home Information Packs were introduced by the Housing Act 2004. They came into effect on a gradual basis and now apply to most residential properties. From 6 April 2009 the the documents required to be in the HIP are: Index Property Information Questionnaire Energy Performance Certificate Predicted Energy Assessment & Sustainability information (new homes only) Sale statement Evidence of title (title plan & register or Search of the Index Map & Epitomy) Standard searches (Drainage & Water plus Local Authority Lease (where appropriate)
