At last the eagerly awaited“adinkra” collection from adÿnkra is here. Our designs are based primarily on symbols from Ghana. According to some beliefs, adinkra symbols originated from the Ivory Coast. It is said that Kofi Adinkra, one time king of Gyaman in the Ivory Coast upset the Asantehene Osei Bonsu Panyin by making a copy of the famous Golden Stool. The Asantes declared war on the Gyamans and defeated them. Adinkra was beheaded and some of the Gyamans taken captive.
