Executive Team

Omar Hamoui, Founder & CEO Omar Hamoui is the Chief Executive Officer of AdMob and a member of the company's board of directors. He founded AdMob in January 2006 while in the MBA program at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, Omar started and ran several companies in the mobile, Internet, and computer software industries including Vertical Blue, GoPix and fotochatter, a mobile to mobile image sharing network. Omar holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and is on leave from The Wharton School.

Russell Buckley, Vice President of Global Alliances As Vice President of Global Alliance for AdMob, Russell works with the company's strategic partners worldwide and will continue to serve as an ambassador for the industry. Russell is also the Global Chairman of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) (www.mmaglobal.com), which represents more than 650 companies across the mobile ecosystem. He is one of the leading experts on mobile marketing in the world, having worked in the industry since 2000, and the co-author of MobHappy, one of the most popular mobile marketing and mobile technology blogs on the web. Before joining AdMob, Russell spent over 15 years working in marketing, including advising leading brands such as Coca-Cola, Diageo, Texaco and Mars. In 2000, he was recruited to be Director of Marketing of UK-based mobile marketing start up, ZagMe, one of the leading pioneers in mobile advertising. Russell learned about AdMob soon after the launch and immediately saw the potential. He gave up his consulting practice to join Omar and launch AdMob in the European market.

Cheryl Dalrymple, Chief Financial Officer As the CFO of AdMob Cheryl is responsible for all financial aspects of the company, as well as HR, legal and administrative matters. Cheryl is a seasoned financial executive, who has worked with technology companies throughout her career. She has served as the CFO for multiple Silicon Valley startups and for a multi-billion dollar technology company. Prior to AdMob Cheryl was CFO of Digital Chocolate, an international publisher and distributor of mobile games. Cheryl was also CFO of Oblix (sold to Oracle) and Nextance (sold to Trilogy Group). Prior to this, Cheryl was SVP and CFO of the Lexis-Nexis Group, where she oversaw finance for all of Lexis-Nexis, including their online business and eight wholly owned subsidiaries. Cheryl began her career at Price Waterhouse (now PwC) where she held senior management roles in the High Tech Audit and the M&A groups for 10 years. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BBA from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Ali Diab, Vice President of Product Management As Vice President of Product Management at AdMob, Ali is responsible for the company’s product strategy, roadmap, and business operations. Prior to joining AdMob, Ali co-founded and launched Ripple TV, the World's first geo-targeted and Web-enabled out-of-home TV network. Previously, Ali held senior and executive management positions at Microsoft, where he developed and launched services including MSN Messenger and MSN Mobile, and at Yahoo!, where he led teams behind services including Yahoo! Web Search, Yahoo! Mobile Search, Yahoo! Local Search and Yahoo! Maps. At Yahoo!, Ali was instrumental to the successful completion of several strategic company initiatives, including the Yahoo! Developer Network, the Yahoo! Geo-Tagging Service, the Yahoo! Location Targeting Service and the Yahoo! Search API. Ali was formerly Founder and CEO of BuildPoint.com, the World's first online marketplace for the building materials and construction industries. Ali is the author of nearly two dozen papers and patents in the data storage and information retrieval fields. Ali received his undergrad degree from Stanford University and an MBA and MPhil from Oxford University.

John Lagerling, Vice President and General Manager, Japan As Vice President and General Manager of Japan for AdMob, John is responsible for the company's strategy, operations, and expansion in the Japanese market. Prior to joining Admob, John was head of mobile business and product for Japan and Asia-Pacific at Google, where he was responsible for forging key partnerships with major carriers and handset manufacturers, as well as driving numerous initiatives around search, advertising, YouTube and Android. John also successfully led the establishment of Google's mobile ad-network in Japan, including advertising partnerships with the leading mobile publishers and SNS sites Gree and Mixi. Prior to Google, John spent five years working at NTT DoCoMo, initially as a manager for regional sales and marketing, and later as executive advisor focusing on business development around i-mode and the wallet phone business. John earned a Master of Science degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in Economics, Marketing, and International Business. John conducted his post-graduate research at the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Economics.

Tony Nethercutt, Vice President of Sales Tony is responsible for executing AdMob's revenue strategy, building the sales team and managing agency relationships. Tony is a leader in interactive advertising and considered an expert in both media and creative targeting with more than 20 highly successful years of sales experience. Prior to AdMob Tony was VP of Ad Sales at YouTube (acquired by Google) where he led the hypergrowth of the advertising sales team. Previously Tony was Director of Media Strategies at Yahoo!, VP of Business for Carat Interactive and managed the DoubleClick Network Sales office in San Francisco. His television advertising experience included managing the San Francisco office for New World/Fox Television Sales and doing local sales for both KGO-TV/ABC and KGTV/ABC. Tony earned his BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Thomas Schulz, Vice President & Managing Director, EMEA As Vice President & Managing Director of EMEA for AdMob, Thomas is responsible for the company's strategy, operations and expansion across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Previously Thomas has held Pan-European senior business development positions at Overture Services and Yahoo! Search Marketing as well as general management positions in start-ups, such as the Idealab! backed company dotTV. Prior to working at AdMob, he advised the CEO of Rambler Media in Russia, on strategy and successfully negotiated complex multi-million dollar deals with global Internet players. He has top-level experience in the e-commerce space, including knowledge of the key players, industry structures, and technology platforms. Thomas holds a BA from FH Reutlingen, a DESS from ESC Reims and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Kevin Scott, Vice President of Engineering Kevin is responsible for Admob software engineering and operations. Prior to Admob Kevin was a senior engineering manager at Google, holding leadership positions in both search and ads. Kevin's teams were responsible for launching substantial enhancements to search and for improvements to the ads system that yielded significant increases in revenue and ad quality. Kevin's time at Google also included M&A work for two successful acquisitions, establishment of the annual Google Faculty summit, and creation or co-creation of a number of leadership development and engineering education programs. Kevin is an elected member-at-large of the ACM Council, founding member of the ACM Professions Board, and member of the ACM Education Board. Kevin is the recipient of an Intel Foundation Ph.D. Fellowship, a Google Founder's Award, and an ACM Recognition of Service Award.

Jason Spero, Vice President & Managing Director, North America As Vice President & Managing Director of North America for AdMob, Jason Spero is responsible for the company's strategy and operations in North America. This includes leading the company's sales, business development and marketing teams. Jason brings more than seven years of experience in product, marketing and general management functions in the mobile space. Before joining AdMob, Jason was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Redpoint Ventures where he focused on mobile applications, services and infrastructure. Prior to Redpoint, Jason was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Digital Chocolate where he was responsible for worldwide product, marketing and distribution. Previously Jason was a Director of Product Management at Openwave where he led their Client and Instant Messaging product teams. Jason holds a BA from Amherst College and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Jim Goetz, General Partner, Sequoia Capital Jim Goetz focuses on systems and software investments. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in 2004, Jim served as a General Partner at Accel Partners where he led the investments in Entrisphere (ERIC), Peribit (JNPR), RGB, and Rhapsody (BRCD) and was part of the team responsible for BroadJump (MOTV), Timetra (ALA) and Topspin (CSCO). Earlier, Jim was a Founder of VitalSigns (LU) where he went on to serve as VP/GM of the VitalSoft division of Lucent. Prior to VitalSigns, Jim was the Vice President of Network Management for Bay Networks. Prior to Bay and Synoptics, he held various product and marketing positions at AT&T, AT&T Bell Labs, and Digital Equipment. Jim has a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Maynard Webb, Chief Executive Officer, LiveOps Prior to becoming the CEO of LiveOps, Maynard Webb served as chief operating officer at eBay, Inc. from June 2002 to August 2006 and was responsible for the company-wide implementation of all business strategies. Previously, Maynard served as president of eBay technologies from 1999 – 2002. In this role, he was responsible for all engineering and technical operations at eBay, which included product strategy, technology strategy, engineering, architecture, site operations and customer support. Prior to joining eBay, he was senior vice president and chief information officer at Gateway, Inc., where he contributed to Gateway's rapid expansion and Internet-enabled business operations. In years prior he has also worked at Quantum, Thomas Conrad, Figgie International, and IBM. Maynard received his Bachelor of Arts from Florida Atlantic University.

Richard Wong, General Partner, Accel Partners Richard concentrates on mobile and broadband services software, as well as messaging and security investments. Prior to Accel, Rich was SVP/GM of Products at Openwave. Previously Rich was the Chief Marketing Officer and EVP/GM of Value-Added Services at Covad Communications, the DSL provider. Preceding Covad, he was a management consultant for McKinsey & Company, focusing on software and consumer technology. Rich started his career as a Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble. Rich holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is an active Board Member of the MIT CNC - Entrepreneurship Program and the CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus.
