BACKGROUND Doug is the 2nd son of Bernard and Patricia Okulewicz of Buffalo, New York. He began drawing as a kid, with a focus on wildlife. "I remember doing special projects in 3rd and 4th grade, drawing animals from my favorite t.v. show, 'Wild Kingdom'," recalls Doug. He continued drawing and painting in high school, and in 1981 was awarded a college scholarship for painting. Although not majoring in art, Doug began focusing on oil paintings shortly after college.
