- The Addiction Recovery Foundation is a registered charity which was founded in February 1989 to address a lack of information and guidance for people seeking to recover from dependency/addiction problems with both substances and behaviours. Through its varied activities, it has become a major influence in both the delivery of substance-abuse treatment services and of good working practices within those services. It has been, and continues to be, instrumental in the harmonisation of different therapeutic treatment approaches which have traditionally generated a polarisation of views and a lack of cooperation among proponents of those approaches.
- ARF works at a local, national and international level with partners from voluntary, statutory and government sectors to promote and facilitate joint working and collaborative ventures, so fulfilling a priority which underpins all of ARF’s activities – to strengthen integration and expand knowledge in the substance-dependency treatment field.
