- MED Servi-Systems was founded in 1980 by Carol and Doris Sweetnam as MD AcuDesigns & Supplies. Fresh from having returned from lengthy acupuncture studies in Asia & Europe, they learned that finding supplies in North America was a challenge. So they took it upon themselves to begin importing acupuncture needles from Japan to use in their own practice and to sell to colleagues. And thus it began. MED now sells thousands of different acupuncture products from countries all over the world.
