Atlantic Contracting has deep roots in road building starting in the early 1900's when Stephen Madden, son of an Irish immigrant began building gravel roads in Wisconsin to supplement his farming activities. His son R.T. Madden worked for his father and later on government projects and with other contractors to hone his road building skills, launching his own paving company R. T.
