I was diagnosed by my Family physician to have Acid Reflux disease. My symptoms were clear. I had constant indigestion. It used to appear only after eating spicy food but then later, no matter what I ate; it was always there. I especially had problems when I ate my favorite meal. Fried Chicken with rice and gravy. One bite of rice and gravy and it was as if it got stuck in my throat. I would have to run to the bathroom because I knew it was coming back up. It was terrible. Have you ever been awakened in the middle of the night with your heart racing at a million beats per second while not being able to breathe? I have been; and more times than I care to count. The problem was that my airway was blocked by acid reflux. What a horrifying experience..... I have been a musician and specifically a singer most of my life. I developed a cough that I just couldn’t shake. My voice was getting airy and I did not experience the freedom with my voice that I had once known.
