The Association for Canadian Educational Resources (ACER) is a charitable (community) environmental education organization. ACER was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization and founded in 1987. Our members are leaders in education, policy and science (, media and business) who initiate and facilitate the development, production and promotion of Canadian environmental materials to meet the needs of today’s learners. Measuring and tracking the effects of climate change demands accurate reporting. ACER believes in a grassroots approach utilizing citizen scientists to conduct such measurement in a scientifically sound manner. ACER develops, delivers and supports programs and resources that educate and enable citizen scientists to undertake accurate monitoring and reporting. In this way, ACER contributes to increasing the awareness and understanding of climate change of its community which paves the path (contributes) to an ecologically sustainable future for the planet. ACER believes that sound ecological action depends on monitoring environmental change and responding at the community level. (Our current focus is ecological monitoring to track .) ACER’s dynamic volunteer network of community groups, educators and scientists teaches pro-active approaches to monitoring and restoring ecosystem health through hands-on programs. Our community partners gather data that is fed into national biodiversity databases to support environmental education and decision-making at community, regional, national and international levels. By supporting ACER you become part of this important effort.
