Our Company
Accertify was founded by a team of executives who had previously worked together to develop and manage fraud exposure for Orbitz, the well-known travel website. Accertify's founders are the former Controller, General Counsel and Fraud Director of Orbitz, and two principals of the business software solutions company PSC Group, which developed the fraud solution for Orbitz in 2001. Accertify is a Delaware limited liability company with its principal place of business in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Three factors led to the founders' decision to form Accertify: Rapid growth in the volume of internet and telephone transactions where a credit card is not physically present and the merchant therefore bears the risk of loss Increasing effort and sophistication in the fraudulent use of credit cards, particularly in such card not present transactions where the criminal can more easily remain anonymous The absence of any single, integrated solution designed specifically for the purpose of screening card not present transactions to protect the merchant Accertify's development of an efficient, practical solution for merchants started with the hands-on experience of running an actual fraud prevention department. That knowledge and experience was combined with the IT talent of PSC Group, which has been developing innovative software solutions for business since 1990.
