- ACMEC was founded in 1999 by Arthur & Pat Laing. Arthur & Pat are Directors of Laing Special Events which is one of Australia's most active and successful entertainment, touring companies. Laing Special Events and ACMEC work closely with A-List Entertainment, a comedy based company run by their eldest son Artie. ACMEC was initially formed to provide a record company for the artists Laing represented. However ACMEC has become a major independent record label and distributor holding accounts with major retail chains and Australia wide independent retailers.
